Um conjunto de desenhos da Biblioteca Pública de Évora, da autoria do arquitecto Joaquim de Oliveira, podem ser identificados com projectos para edifícios de Bibliotecas e Museus idealizados por Frei Manuel do Cenáculo para as suas colecções, primeiro em Beja e depois em Évora, as duas cidades onde ocupou a Mitra. São dos primeiros desenhos de arquitectura conhecidos para Museus em Portugal.Cenáculo esteve ligado à criação de algumas das primeiras bibliotecas públicas portuguesas, como a Biblioteca da Academia das Ciências de Lisboa, a Biblioteca da Real Mesa Censória, antecessora da Biblioteca Nacional, e a Biblioteca Pública de Évora. Foi também o fundador do primeiro Museu Público, o Museu Sesinando Cenáculo Pacense, inaugurado em Beja, em 1791. A necessidade de unir a biblioteca e o museu como instrumentos essenciais de base da construção do edifício científico é exposta várias vezes no pensamento de Frei Manuel do Cenáculo que, até à sua morte, tentou por várias vezes dar forma a este projecto, finalmente concretizado na Biblioteca Pública de Évora em 1805, já depois da morte do arquitecto.

In the catalog of Italian paintings from the 14th to the 20th century preserved at the National Museum of Serbia in Belgrade, it is stated that the painting titled “The Death of Agrippina” is a work of Sebastiano Ricci due to its pictorial qualities. The argument is mostly based upon the similarity in the pose of the female figure and other figures in his mythological paintings. However, both the topic and the composition are
also highly similar to another painting of the same title done by Giovanni Battista Pittoni.
Pittoni’s painting, paired with “The Death of Seneca,” had hung in Dresden since 1723 and went missing after the Second World War. Based on this, a hypothesis was made claiming that Pittoni was inspired by Ricci’s canvas.
On the other hand, there is a drawing by Pittoni (previously ascribed to Antonio Balestra) that is almost identical to the painting in Belgrade. This casts doubt on the previous attribution, allowing a re-attribution to Giambattista Pittoni, making it the aim of this research. This is further supported by the repetition of the figures in his other works throughout his career. A feature he was particularly notable for.
In addition, in the general overview of 18th-century Venetian painting, Sebastiano Ricci is one of the main exponents of the so-called group of “chiaristi” painters, while Pittoni belongs to the so-called “pathetic Rococo” style. The painterly qualities of the Belgrade canvas are much closer to the latter, further supporting the aforementioned argument.

On sait comment Condorcet développa une exigence de « démocratie linguistique » qui s'investit tantôt dans ce que la regrettée Brigitte Schlieben-Lange a appelé « l'uniformité de la langue », tantôt dans le projet d'une « langue universelle de connaissance ». Cette perspective démocratique a été popularisée par un texte qui pose une "véritable énigme littéraire", ainsi que le rappellent les auteurs de l'édition publiée en 2004 sous la direction de Jean-Pierre Schandeler et Pierre Crépel par un Groupe Condorcet qui compte un dizaine de chercheurs -première édition véritablement scientifique de ce grand texte. Rédigé entre juillet et octobre 1793, le Prospectus d'un tableau historique des progrès de l'esprit humain a paru en l'an III sous le titre, devenu classique, d'Esquisse d'un tableau historique des progrès de l'esprit humain. Deux autres éditions virent le jour en 1804 et 1847. "Toutes les éditions publiées entre l'an III et 1988 prennent pour texte de base l'une de ces trois éditions" 1 . Pourtant, la Bibliothèque de l'Institut conserve un manuscrit autographe du Prospectus qui diffère sensiblement des textes publiés, puisque ceux-ci s'en distinguent notamment "par une quarantaine d'additions (...) ainsi que par quelque mille cinq cents autres variantes". Le manuscrit de l'Institut n'a vraisemblablement pu servir de base à une épreuve d'imprimerie sur laquelle Condorcet aurait porté les additions que comportent ces éditions, lesquelles doivent remonter à une copie aujourd'hui perdue.

Potrzeba zrzeszania się znalazła wśród wiernych Kościoła katolickiego wyraz w postaci tworzenia bractw religijnych (konfraterni), pełniących rozliczne funkcje -dewocyjne, społeczne, edukacyjne, czy charytatywne. Duchowieństwo inspirowało powstawanie wspólnot brackich, dawały one bowiem możliwość skutecznego propagowania określonych kultów i kształtowania głębokich więzi z danym ośrodkiem życia religijnego. Wiedzy o ich funkcjonowaniu dostarcza zachowana w różnym stopniu spuścizna po działających licznie na ziemiach Rzeczypospolitej konfraterniach, zawierająca treści przywilejów, wykazy członków, statuty wspólnot, nabożeństwa i modlitwy brackie, czy zapiski gospodarcze. W historiografii kościelnej dostrzeżono znaczące walory źródeł związanych z bractwami, czego efektem stała się obszerna literatura dotycząca tych wspólnot. Warto podkreślić, że przyjmowano dotychczas różne perspektywy badania wspólnot brackich. Analizowano chociażby ogół konfraterni pod tym samym wezwaniem, jak w przypadku bractw Matki Bożej Wspomożycielki Chrześcijan 1 . Częściej jednak pochylano się nad bractwami związanymi z określonym ośrodkiem pątniczym (np. Jasną Górą 2 ), a zwłaszcza działającymi na konkretnym terenie -miasta (np. Krakowa 3 ) lub też jednostki administracji kościelnej -diecezji: wrocławskiej 4 czy przemyskiej 5 ,

Partindo da riquíssima documentação do arquivo dos marqueses de Rio
Maior, depositada na Torre do Tombo, analisamos os dois edifícios que compõem o palácio da rua das Portas de Santo Antão, em Lisboa, conhecidos como as «casas grandes» e as «casas pequenas» da Anunciada, recentemente transformados em hotel de luxo. Identificamos os arquitetos que estiveram por trás das duas obras e os vários artistas e artífices que ali trabalharam até ao final do século XIX.
Diferentes circunstâncias levaram à construção dos dois edifícios por
arquitetos de nacionalidades e formações diferentes. Em 1761, um desconhecido arquiteto italiano, referido como «Romanino», foi responsável pelo projeto das «casas pequenas». Em 1771, o arquiteto de Obras Públicas, Reinaldo Manuel dos Santos, riscou as «casas grandes». Uma curiosa contraposição entre um edifício erudito de matriz italiana, pensado como prédio de rendimento, e uma construção funcional, de génese pombalina, destinada a residência nobre da família Rio Maior.

Based on the rich documentation in the archives of the Marquises of Rio Maior, deposited in Torre do Tombo, we analyse the two buildings that make up the palace on Rua das Portas de Santo Antão in Lisbon, known as the «big houses» and the «small houses» of Anunciada, recently transformed into a luxury hotel. We identify the architects and the various artists and craftsmen who worked on them until the end of the 19th century. Different circumstances led to the construction of the two buildings by architects of different nationalities and backgrounds. In 1761, an unknown Italian architect, referred to as Romanino, was responsible for designing the «small houses». In 1771, the Public Works architect, Reinaldo Manuel dos Santos, drew up the «big houses». A curious contrast between an Italianate classical building, designed as an income-producing building, and a functional construction, of Pombaline origin, destined for the noble residence of the Rio Maior family.

The Order of St. Anna on the Icon of St. Paul of Constantinople from the Home Church of the Naval Cadet Corps in St. Petersburg:

Formation of the cult of St. Paul of Constantinople (the Confessor) at St. Petersburg was connected with the ascension of Paul I on the day of this saint. In 1797 the house church of the Naval Cadet Corps was dedicated to this saint of the 4th century. According to the description of Fr. Capiton Belyavsky the icon of St. Paul of Constantinople in this church had a curious feature: on St. Paul's chest the order of St. Anna was depicted and according to the local tale it was depicted on demand of the emperor Paul I himself. Such unusual detail confirms by its extreme strangeness the indication of tale that it was Paul I who decided to "award" the icon of that saint. Special attitude of Paul I to the order of St. Anna is known. During his reign Paul I started to award the clergy with the imperial orders and already on the day of his coronation Paul I awarded by the order of St. Anna a few bishops. A lot of evidences points to the connection of orders (just as artifacts) with the sacral contexts in Russia during the 18th century. It is impossible to clarify in details the circumstances of appearance of the order of St. Anna on the icon in 1797. In general we should talk about some kind of connection of the sacral and gaming discourses during Paul’s reign. The iconography of St. Genevieve of Paris could be a source for Paul's idea to depict an order on an icon. St. Genevieve's life describes the handing of a coin with the image of cross to her by St. Germanus of Auxerre. This episode depicted on some images of that saint, one of them was in the church of St. Genevieve at Paris, which Paul visited in 1782.

Artículo sobre una pintura de Juan de Miranda (1723-1805), que formó parte del programa iconográfico que  la "capilla del sagrario" tuvo en la antigua Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios en San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Se contextualiza en el medio devocional y artístico que posibilitó su existencia durante la década de 1780.

O presente artigo apresenta um panorama da atividade dos estucadores no Rio de Janeiro no século XIX, com ênfase na atuação daqueles oriundos do norte de Portugal. A partir dos nomes de profissionais de projeção, buscaram-se fontes que permitissem acompanhar a evolução da referida atividade, localizar profissionais ainda desconhecidos e assinalar a introdução de novas técnicas e materiais de acabamento e decoração. O estudo encontra-se ainda em fase inicial, porém os resultados preliminares apontam para uma grande circulação de profissionais entre a Europa e as Américas. Sugere-se, por fim, um aprofundamento do estudo de manuais e catálogos bem como do histórico do ensino profissional das artes decorativas.

Cet article interroge l’apparition de la date au jour près sur les dessins de paysage au XVIIIe siècle. Alors que de telles dates sont auparavant très rares, toutes iconographies confondues (avec de célèbres exceptions comme le Paysage du val d’Arno de Léonard), elles se multiplient au XVIIIe siècle sous l’effet de phénomènes d’ateliers (Nicolas Vleughels transmet cette pratique à ses élèves) et d’une redéfinition de la temporalité de l’image. Le paysage devient ainsi le lieu privilégié de la date, dans une quête croissante d’instantanéité. L’article se termine en singularisant les significations de cette inscription, qui place l’œuvre à la fois dans une temporalité cyclique ou saisonnière (tel dessin est du 12 mars) et linéaire (du 12 mars 1762, moment unique de l’histoire).

Entre 1724 & 1728, Joseph FAUCHIER, qui a perdu ses meilleurs ouvriers (Louis CARBONEL, qui partira à Gardanne, Sébastien CARBONEL, Joseph OLERYS, Antoine GRAS, Pierre MARIZI qui partiront pour Alcora) va s’installer à son compte et recruter de nouveaux faïenciers pour remplacer ceux partis.

Représenter l’inconnu : une voie de découverte de soi ?
XVIe-XVIIIe siècle


La rencontre avec l’inconnu, de quelque nature soit-il (végétale, animale, humaine) suscite l’interrogation et l’imagination chez les personnes témoins – en particulier les voyageuses et voyageurs réels ou fictionnels –, l’expression des sentiments et de pensées (voire d'hypothèses de forme scientifique, comme des comparaisons, homologies ou analogies – ou non – relations à des contes, légendes ou récits mythologiques, on peut penser par exemple aux gigantologies) dans des modalités qui rendent compte du caractère inédit, voire inouï, de la situation et des expériences vécues ou imaginaires. Les récits et carnets de voyage et leurs illustrations (estampes, gravures…) recueillent des réactions qui méritent d’être examinées pour ce qu’elles disent des effets de la découverte de l’inconnu (être humain d’une autre contrée, espèce  animale ou végétale, réelle ou fantasmée) sur la prise de conscience de la singularité au XVIIe siècle, du processus de subjectivation et de la construction de relations nouvelles à une altérité et / ou une extériorité dont on pourrait envisager la dimension naturelle en devenir.
« De la nature à soi », telle est la perspective de cette journée d’étude pluridisciplinaire pour tenter de comprendre l’interaction entre l’espace du vivant et du non-vivant (en passe de devenir l’un des objets de réflexion et de réduction physico-chimique des savants) et l’émancipation de la pensée à une époque où l’individu est en cours de formation.

Readers of this book will relish fresh and engaging readings of works loved and unloved, familiar and strange. However, a history of history painting as a series of encounters of texts and images, as brilliant and erudite as this one is, does not fully capture the complexity of history painting as practice and as a human and social endeavour.

This chapter examines the eighteenth-century English poet, Alexander Pope’s Twickenham Villa, in relation to his preoccupation with death. Pope’s design evoked a ritualised itinerary taking the form of a descent through a subterranean passage (the famous grotto) leading to an ascent into an Elysium-like space (the garden proper) which culminated in a reverential processional approach to the obelisk which he had erected in memory of his mother. Zhuang argues that Pope modelled the itinerary upon the landscapes of the ancients and necrotopography (described in classical and Renaissance literature) through which the souls of the dead journeyed and the sacred sites (such as Eleusis) where neophytes were initiated into Arcadian mysteries. Zhuang suggests that, together, the grotto and the garden become a sanctuary which Pope re-invested with esoteric meaning, both re-vitalising the Christian concept of death and re-enchanting the garden as a place where to dwell, asking us to revise our ideas about the value of mystery in the so-called age of Enlightenment.

Dans la longue histoire de la pensée, le nombre d'ouvrages consacrés à la question des « principes » ne peut manquer d'impressionner : les principes de la philosophie, les principes du droit, ceux de la philosophie du droit, etc.... Pourquoi toute cette littérature ? Mais parce qu'elle est régie par l'idée que tout domaine de la pensée est gouverné par des principes. Il n'était, semble-t-il, venu à l'idée de personne qu'il puisse y avoir des principes qui gouvernent la pensée elle-même… C'est pourtant l'ambition de l'Arbre des archétypes. Le sous-titre donne le ton : « les lettres de l'alphabet hébreu comme figures et nombres ». Voilà qui sent le soufre, pardon, la kabbale… J.F. Froger serait-il un gnostique ? Quiconque a eu entre les mains le livre sur les Gnostiques dans la collection la Pléiade sait de science sûre, de science profonde, qu'il n'en est rien. Mais il y a des intuitions profondes qu'il faut reprendre et redresser, avec un outillage plus sûr et une inspiration plus haute. L'auteur nous a habitué à la question de l'énigme. Il y a consacré un livre (Énigme de la pensée). Penser est un mystère, et c'est un mystère qui appartient à l'homme et à lui seul. Les vaches ruminent, les lapins détalent, les chiens aboient et les caravanes passent. L'homme pense, depuis le berger corse qui regarde brouter ses moutons jusqu'à l'homme moderne, qui dispose de tout le temps nécessaire dans les transports en commun pour se livrer à la contemplation, puisque le temps des caravanes est révolu. Le livre des archétypes nous explique cela, plus techniquement et plus sobrement. J'ai eu à lire dans ma vie déjà longue bien des livres. Pas tous, il n'y a que Mallarmé qui affiche cette prétention et c'est une licence poétique. Quand on a beaucoup lu et pas toujours des romances distrayantes, on a dû gober bien des bavardages, érudits, spécieux, habiles…. Bavardages quand même. On apprécie donc la concision. Chez J.F. Froger, elle confine à une forme de virtuosité… Dans son enseignement oral, il est plus disert, on respire à des hauteurs variables, on redescend dans les vallées, même profondes. Dans ses écrits, on vit parfois en apnée mais c'est un entrainement qui en vaut bien un autre. Ne prêtons pas trop attention aux lecteurs qui ronchonnent et goûtons cette concision. Car l'introduction se révèle un modèle d'intelligence sur la question de l'écriture, autrement dit de la « naissance de l'alphabet ». « La langue parlée n'a pas besoin d'alphabet » -c'est une assertion déjà troublante, même s'il est des langues qui n'ont pas d'écriture. La langue écrite se sert de signes pour transcrire les sons. Jusque-là, nous suivons sans trop de peine. Or, « l'invention de signes pour écrire une langue parlée relève d'une abstraction extraordinaire ». Si on en doutait, le fait même que la phonologie comme discipline n'apparaisse qu'au début du XXe siècle avec le comte Troubetskoy en témoigne… Dans l'histoire reconstituable de « l'invention de l'écriture » ce sont les choses qui ont servi de figures pour la première écriture, celle des hiéroglyphes. Les lettres sont d'abord des mots désignant des choses, dont on ne retient que le son pour le procédé d'alphabétisation. « Une figure et un phonème unique », c'est par là que commence la grande aventure du « signe écrit ». Cet ouvrage issu de ma thèse de doctorat examine l'itinéraire de trois graveurs sur cuivre actifs à Lyon entre les années 1520 et 1565, le Maître JG, Georges Reverdy et le Maître CC. À travers le parcours et la production gravée de ces artistes, il s'agit d'examiner l'histoire d'une émergence, celle d'une technique particulière, la gravure en taille-douce, dont les premières manifestations apparaissent à Lyon dans un contexte socioéconomique particulier. Proches des officines d'imprimeurs et de libraires, les ateliers des graveurs bénéficient de leurs réseaux de diffusion, du large brassage d'hommes de lettres, mais aussi de modèles dessinés et gravés provenant de l'Europe entière. Lyon étant un véritable creuset des idées nouvelles, notamment réformées, les estampes de ces trois graveurs témoignent de ce foisonnement et de l'évolution confessionnelle qui se fait jour dans la ville. Les trajectoires s'interrompent néanmoins dans les toutes premières années des guerres de Religion.

Cette étude propose une édition du feuilleton que le jeune Jules Fleury consacre à Arsène Houssaye, en 1844, dans les colonnes du "Journal de l'Aisne" publié à Laon. Pareille entreprise menée par le futur Champfleury ressortit à un double enjeu: il s'agit d’un côté de célébrer le talent d'Houssaye; de surcroît, il faut rapprocher l'écrivain portraituré du signataire en créant des ponts symboliques susceptibles de ménager une prochaine rencontre et de favoriser la camaraderie littéraire.

In the late 1960s, the small village of Clémery, in the Lorraine region of France, was the scene of unusual events. Pilgrims from all over France, as well as Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and Germany, gathered to attend masses celebrated by Michel Collin, a priest who had been dismissed from the clerical state and had proclaimed himself Pope under the name of Clement XV. A colorful character, Michel Collin should not be reduced to the role of a simple lunatic, as the press of the time often confined him. Beyond his outrageousness, he is a good example of the mystical excesses that can occur in Catholicism, but he also bears witness to the turbulence that shook the Church in the wake of the Second Vatican Council.

As early as 1635, Jesuit Claude Clément (1596-1642) recognized coins as "minted historical sources" and an essential complement to the library. However, it was not until the latter half of the seventeenth century that Jesuits became prominent members of the "Republic of Medals," the European network of coin and medal connoisseurs and collectors. This article aims to explore the varied contributions of Jesuits to numismatics up to the mid-eighteenth century. Among the first prominent figures were the French Jesuits Louis Jobert (1637-1719), a collector of ancient coins and author of the bestseller La science des médailles (The science of medals), and Jean Hardouin (1646-1729), a controversial scholar who employed ancient coins to to study historical chronology. In the eighteenth century, the most significant numismatic works were produced by Viennese Jesuits: Erasmus Frölich (1700-58), Joseph Khell von Khellburg (1714-72), and later, Joseph Eckhel (1737-98). Preceding them, the Jesuits of Graz published Synopsis rei nummariae veterum (Synopsis of the monetary system of the ancients; 1724), a unique numismatic textbook written in hexameter. Jesuits also maintained substantial institutional and private collections, particularly within their colleges.

Raziskovanje zbirateljskih praks Edvarda in Karla vitezov pl. Strahl ter provenience in usode posameznih slik in predmetov iz njune zbirke v Stari Loki je izjemnega pomena za študij zgodovine umetnostnih zbirk in zbirateljstva na Slovenskem v 19. in prvi polovici 20. stoletja. Poglobljen študij arhivskega gradiva, zlasti korespondence, zapuščinskih inventarjev, spominov, katalogov in številnih drugih popisov, ter sistematična analiza in pregled načinov pridobivanja umetnin, pohištva in drugih predmetov so dali vpogled v posamezne časovne in prostorske kontekste zbirke ter omogočili sestavo njenega historiata od leta 1833, ko je Edvard Strahl skupaj s sestro Henriko postal lastnik starološke graščine, prek javne dražbe v Stari Loki leta 1930 vse do danes, ko še vedno odkrivamo poti, po katerih je slike in predmete vodila usoda. V luči naštetih podatkov in ugotovitev pa se razkrivajo tudi pogledi na pomen, delo in delovanje nekaterih sodobnic in sodobnikov Edvarda Strahla. Strastni zbiratelj je namreč kazal zanimanje za njihovo umetniško delo, z njimi sodeloval in jih podpiral. Posledično je v starološki zbirki poleg slik Mihaela Stroja, Matevža Langusa in Antona Karingerja hranil tudi dela nekaterih manj znanih - tako poklicnih kot ljubiteljskih - slikark in slikarjev svoje dobe.

ESP: Este trabajo analiza críticamente la Galería Regional de Palazzo Abatellis en Palermo, centrándose en su arquitectura, evolución histórica y el proyecto de restauración museográfica llevado a cabo por Carlo Scarpa en los años 50. Tras reconstruir la historia del palacio, construido en el siglo XV como residencia privada y posteriormente transformado en convento y museo, se examinan las intervenciones de restauración, con especial atención al enfoque de Scarpa, quien supo combinar la conservación del edificio histórico con soluciones museográficas innovadoras. El documento explora también las principales salas expositivas, su diseño y la interacción entre el espacio arquitectónico y las obras de arte. Finalmente, se abordan los problemas actuales de gestión del museo, destacando las deficiencias en comunicación, servicios al visitante y acceso al patrimonio, y se sugieren estrategias para mejorar su accesibilidad y valorización. El estudio concluye con una reflexión sobre el papel de Palazzo Abatellis en la escena cultural contemporánea y los desafíos futuros para su conservación y promoción.

ITA: Il presente lavoro analizza criticamente la Galería Regional di Palazzo Abatellis a Palermo, con particolare attenzione alla sua architettura, alla sua evoluzione storica e al progetto di restauro museografico realizzato da Carlo Scarpa negli anni '50. Dopo una ricostruzione della storia del palazzo, costruito nel XV secolo come residenza privata e successivamente trasformato in convento e museo, si esaminano gli interventi di restauro, soffermandosi sul contributo di Scarpa, che ha saputo coniugare la conservazione dell’edificio storico con soluzioni museografiche moderne. Il documento esplora inoltre le principali sale espositive, il loro allestimento e la relazione tra lo spazio architettonico e le opere d'arte. Infine, vengono affrontate le problematiche legate alla gestione attuale del museo, evidenziando le criticità relative alla comunicazione, ai servizi per i visitatori e alla fruizione del patrimonio, suggerendo possibili strategie per migliorare l'accessibilità e la valorizzazione della collezione. Il lavoro si conclude con una riflessione sul ruolo di Palazzo Abatellis nella scena culturale contemporanea e sulle sfide future per la sua conservazione e promozione.

In Western politics and philosophy of the 18 th century, concepts of balance, equality, and democracy experienced a groundbreaking contouring that continues to have an impact until today (see McMahon 2023). These issues were negotiated not least in the arts. Our thesis is that the parallelism and simultaneity of opposing views and ideologies led to a striving for equilibrium and harmony, and was articulated, for example, within the ideas of social justice and political equality, or the goal of levelling extreme economic and financial differences, an idealistic balance that ultimately paved the way for new concepts of societal order, respectively democracy.

From 1729 the Palace in Podhorce was the residence of Grand Crown Hetman Waclaw Rzewuski (1706-1779). Hetman arranged a magnificent Old Polish magnate residence in the Podhorecki palace, having souvenirs of representatives of the Sobieski family and the Ko-niecpolski family, as well as a gallery of works of art, an armory and a library. This article is an attempt to present the functioning of the Podhorce residence in the light of the guidance kept in the Book of inventory and instructions of the Podhorce castle from 1745-1754. Among the preserved guidelines, one can distinguish instructions concerning various areas of the functioning of the Podhorce residence, namely: welcoming guests, the kitchen and the table of residence, security, heating and lighting of the palace, as well as the Podhorce stables.

RAGAČ, Radoslav. Neznáme maliarske objednávky príležitostnej heraldickej reprezentácie pri pohreboch cirkevných hodnostárov do polovice 18. storočia vo fonde Súkromný archív Bratislavskej kapituly

Autor na základe doposiaľ neznámych archívnych dokumentov, najmä účtovného charakteru, z archívneho fondu Súkromný archív Bratislavskej kapituly uloženého v Slovenskom národnom archíve opisuje jednotlivé prvky heraldickej reprezentácie pri pohreboch cirkevných hodnostárov do od prvégo známeho prípadu z roku 1638 až do polovice 18. storočia. Išlo najmä o početné papierové a textilné mortuáriá, ktoré boli dielami miestnych umelcov z Bratislavy a ďalšiu smútočnú výzdobu interiérov tunajších kostolov. Opisuje aj spôsoby ich používania počas smútočných obradov spolu so sviecami, ich umiestňovanie na zaužívané miesta v Bratislave a ďalšie detaily.
