In psychology, anxiety is one of the most common phenomena that has long been studied. Cognitive Test Anxiety is the term used to describe the emotional and psychological reactions people have when they are about to take an exam or test. The objective of this study is to identify the cluster using research variables-gender, stream, residence and CTA (Cognitive Test Anxiety) for assessing predictor significance in cluster formation. To achieve those objectives the researcher used a descriptive survey approach and took 363 arts and science postgraduate students from Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University as sample. As a statistical technique, the researcher has used a two-step clustering approach to classify the entire sample into distinct clusters. Variables such as residence, gender and stream were identified as contributors to distinct clusters and their influence on CTA. The study's conclusions showed that as the clusters grow, from 2 to 10 clusters the residence, gender, stream and CTA as predictors become highly significant. Therefore, it can be opined that change of predictors with respect to residence and gender are very high, stream is mediocre, and CTA is low for small clusters but becomes high for large number of clusters.

Exam anxiety, which is an element affecting the success of exams in school terms, is a situation that students face from the first years of their education. The students who are introduced to the exam in the first time when they start school, face the exam continuously during their life. Especially university students, who are going to start their business life, compete with their friends in a competitive environment in order to achieve their goals for the future and to be in a good position in their professions. As a matter of fact, the anxiety in the exams to reach the goals in this race affects the success. For this purpose, a field study was conducted on the students of Vocational School of Afyon Kocatepe University to determine the test anxiety and the relationship between various variables. The main problematic of the study is the level of exam anxiety of vocational high school students and how they differ according to socio-demographic characteristics. In order to collect data, a questionnaire consisting of 34 questions was used. The first 5 questions in the questionnaire aimed to reveal the sociodemographic characteristics of the participants. Exam anxiety is a negative situation experienced by students during the education process. This situation may affect students negatively. Many factors affect students' anxiety before the exam. These factors include; family attitudes and behaviors, working environment, financial conditions, friend relations, socialization, teacher-student relations and expectations. Therefore, in order to minimize exam anxiety, considering the above factors, besides families and trainers; It is recommended that students be made aware of these issues from an early age. Test anxiety seems like a benign problem to some people, but it can be potentially serious when it leads to high levels of distress and academic failure. The aim of this study is to define the correlation among high school senior students' test anxiety, academic performance (GPA) and points of university entrance exam (UEE). The study group of the research was composed of 194 high school senior students in Turkey. To specify students' test anxiety, " Test Anxiety Inventory " developed by Spielberge et al. and adopted into Turkish by Oner was used. The data on students' UEE points and GPA were obtained from school administration. In the result of pearson correlation analysis, it was found significant reverse correlation between students' test anxiety and points of UEE. It was also seen significant positive correlation between students' GPA and scores of UEE. Besides, in the analysis done according to gender, the result showed that although there was a significant reverse correlation between female students' test anxiety and points of UEE, it was seen a significant positive correlation between their points of UEE and their GPA. According to data analysis done for male students, significant positive correlation between male students' GPA and points of UEE occured. Following t-test results, it was found significant difference in test anxiety and GPA in favor of female students and in points of UEE in favor of male students. These findings extend the previous studies carried out on test anxiety and its reflections and encourage further studies.

The study further revealed a significant impact of gender on the effectiveness of Cognitive restructuring technique. Cognitive restructuring technique was more effective for females than males on the reduction of test anxiety scores. It was recommended that the school counsellors can use Cognitive restructuring technique to manage test anxiety among students. Cognitive Restructuring techniques should preferably be used for female students since the technique is more effective for females in reducing test anxiety scores than males.

The paper focused on how learners' characteristics influenced cognitive test anxiety among students of National Open University of Nigeria. The research design used for the study was cross-sectional survey, drawing on the population of 200,000 students at 200 to 400 levels, a sample of 460 were selected using simple sampling technique. Four hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The instrument used for this study was Open and Distance Learners' Cognitive Test Anxiety Questionnaire (ODLCTAQ) constructed by the researcher. The reliability coefficient of the instrument was 0.83 using Cronbach Alpha statistics. Chi-square statistics was used to analyse the data in order to test the hypotheses. The findings showed that the influence of employment status on students' cognitive test anxiety was not significant (ꭓ 2 (6)= 3.028; P=.805) but that students' academic discipline had significant influence on students' cognitive test anxiety (ꭓ 2 (12) = 25.942; P=.011). Also, geopolitical zone of NOUN students had significant influence on cognitive test anxiety (ꭓ 2 (6)= 20.331; P=.002). It is therefore recommended that management of National Open University of Nigeria should schedule well-spaced out examination timetable in order to take care of the students who are civil servants and those that work in the private companies to have more time to prepare for examinations so as to reduce their cognitive test anxiety. The purpose of this study was to evaluate cognitive test anxiety and academic performance of student in public secondary schools in Rivers State. The experimental research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 650 respondents, while the Tsaro Yamen formula was used to obtain a sample size of 295respondents. The stratified random sampling technique was adopted for the study. The mean was used to answer the research questions, while the inferential statistic of T-test analysis was used as the statistical tool to test the formulated hypotheses. A reliability coefficient of 0.85 was advanced using the Kudar Richardson approach. The result of the statistical analyses shows that a significant difference exist between failure anticipation as a variable of cognitive test anxiety and academic performance of male and female students in public secondary schools. Also, a significant difference was found between off-task behaviour, intrusive thought and academic performance of male and female students in public secondary schools. The study concluded that the phenomenon of cognitive test anxiety is common in students as they approach examination period, and this is regardless of their age, sex differences, and their schools‟ residential status. In addition, cognitive test anxiety has a significant positive effect on students‟ academic performance.
