The Chair read the notice into the record, and then advised the Committee that the applicant had submitted a letter requesting a postponement to the March TAC meeting. Ms. Finnigan made a motion to postpone this application to the March 2, 2010 TAC meeting. Mr. Desfosses seconded the motion. The motion to postpone this application to the March 2, 2010 TAC meeting passed unanimously.

2003

Grace Nesi MOVED THAT the agenda be accepted as amended in document #2003/09/24-CA-001. Carried unanimously 2.0 APPROVAL OF MINUTES In a verbal notice, Walter Fogel advised that in the minutes of the regular meeting held on 2003-08-27, on page 0917, item 5.1, 2 nd line, the word "should" is to be replaced with the word "may". As well in the 3 rd line, the word "should" is to be replaced with the word "must". He also noted that on page 0922, the vote on the original motion #030827-CA-0004 should record Walter Fogel as voting NAY. In item 5.2, 2 nd paragraph, 2 nd line the word "smell" should be replaced with the word "odour" and "for should be replaced with the word "from". He continued noting that on page 0923, item 5.4, 2 nd line, the words "include a later hour" should be replaced with "a later hour or keep the status quo". Also on page 0924 in resolution #030827-CA-0007, the word "projects" should be replaced with the word "services". Steve Kmec advised that on page 0917, resolution #030827-CA-0004, in the second resolution to be ratified #030708-HR-0004, 2 nd whereas the word "on" should be replaced with the word "of". 030924-CA-0015 William Pollock MOVED THAT the minutes of the REGULAR meeting of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board held on 2003-09-24, having been received by all members prior to this meeting, be approved as corrected.

Ms. Gayle Lafferty, Planner, went over staff’s report with the Board members (attached to the original minutes). She reported that staff has reviewed the request for a variance from the provisions of Section 61.06, encroachment of side yards for single family residences, of the Code of Ordinances to allow the construction of a carport, which would encroach a maximum of five (5) feet into the minimum side setback of five (5) feet required and determined that the request does not meet the standards of review set forth in Sections 66.02 and 66.03. Staff feels that the need for the variance has been created by the homeowner’s request to construct the carport. Staff has determined that the request for variance from provisions of the Code of Ordinances has not met the standards of review for granting variances as set forth in Sections 66.02 and 66.03. Staff therefore, recommends denial of the variance.

Call to Order Ms. Jackie Fagan, Chair, called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m. The committee members introduced themselves. Members of Aspiring Leaders Cohort and other visitors who were present were welcomed. Business Approval of Minutes The committee was directed to look over the minutes. Ms. Fran Goforth made a motion to approve the minutes and Ms. Sandra Hermann seconded. There was no discussion and the motion passed unanimously. Minutes taken by Roberto Racca Video conference started at 15:30 EDT Meeting called to order (all participants on-line) at 15:45 EDT Frank Russo opened the meeting by noting that only an unofficial telephone discussion among Board members had taken place since the previous formal Board meeting in October, and the October minutes had been effectively approved through e-mail exchanges; there was therefore no requirement for formal approval at the present meeting.
