This article analyzes the dynamics of the post-Mohács Ottoman timariot army, exploring the Ottoman military transformation within the Ottoman frontier districts or sub-provinces (sancak/liva), namely Semendria and Bosnia, with a specific focus on the prelude to the Ottoman–Habsburg struggle. As the Ottoman–Habsburg conflict unfolded, the Ottomans gathered formidable garrison troops along the Hungarian frontier, unprecedented in its history. Drawing insights from various undated documents spanning 1530 to 1532, this article investigates the potential Ottoman army available for military campaigns in the West, which previous research have only made estimations. A specific roll-call register provides details on the actual size of the Rumelian timariot army during the 1532 campaign. The study also examines the factors and methods contributing to the growth of the timariot army in the frontier regions and the emergence of a distinct frontier power holder typology, exemplified by clans such as the Hüsrev Bey and Yahyalı clans. The article further explores the upkeep of substantial household troops commanded by these governors (sancakbeyi), their integration into the timar system, and their role in the raids and magnitude of the slavery-based economy. It also analyzes the leaders of raids into Croatia and offers an overview of the typology of the frontier soldier.

Osmanlı İstanbulu’nda Eşitsizlik: Terekeler Üzerinden Demografi ve Servet Analizi

Dünya ekonomilerinde yaşanan bölüşüm sorunu, eşitsizlikler üzerine yapılan çalışmaların hem sayısını hem de önemini artırmaktadır. İktisadi olarak neden dünyanın bazı bölgelerinin diğerlerinden daha iyi durumda olduğu sorusu, ilgili toplumların ekonomik yapılarını uzun dönemli incelemeyi gerektirir. Dünyada son birkaç on yılda gelişen iktisadi analizin merkezine doğru kayan bu araştırma sahası içinde Osmanlı dönemi üzerine yapılan çalışmalardaki eksiklik de göze çarpar.
Elinizdeki eser bu eksikliği giderme motivasyonuyla kaleme alındı. Avrupa’da Sanayi Devrimi süreci yaşanırken Osmanlılar tarafında bu büyük dönüşümün dinamikleri ne durumdaydı? Yollar ayrılırken ortaya çıkan tablo belirli kurumsal/yapısal kökenler mi barındırıyordu yoksa Kuznets’in eşitsizlikler tezi mi etkiliydi? Bu büyük sorulara mütevazı fakat somut katkılar sunmayı amaçlayan uzun soluklu bir araştırmanın ürünü olan kitap, 18. yüzyıl Osmanlı İstanbulu’nda nüfusun karakteristiklerini, servetin yapısı ve bölüşümünü, servet eşitsizliğinin boyutlarını ampirik olarak ortaya koyuyor.
Dönemin İstanbulu hangi sosyoekonomik gruplar ayrımında incelenebilir? Cinsiyet, din, unvan ve meslek gruplarına ilişkin servet yapıları nasıldı? Servet hangi kompozisyonlarda tutuluyordu? Miras hukuku serveti nasıl ve ne yönde dağıtıyordu? Tüm bunlar servet eşitsizliğini nasıl etkiliyordu? Bu soruların yanıtlarını Kadı Sicilleri içerisinde yer alan tereke defterlerinden oluşturulan veri seti yardımıyla analiz eden kitap, dönemin İstanbulu için pazar mekanizmasının eşitsizlikleri nasıl sınırladığını göstermeyi deniyor.

Bu makalede tasavvuf tarihinin önemli tartışma konularından biri olan velâyet öğretisini Abdullah Bosnevî'nin Fusûs şerhi Tecelliyâtu Arâisi'n-Nusûs ekseninde ele almaya çalıştık. Bosnevî'nin bu eseri, hem ilk Türkçe Şerh olması hem de tıpkı Müeyyüdiddin el-Cendî ve Davud el-Kayserî'nin şerhlerinde olduğu gibi, İbn Arabî düşüncesinin temel bazı kavram ve konularını genişçe ele alıp açıklaması bakımından önemlidir. Abdullah Bosnevî eserinin mukaddimesinde bu konuları on iki başlık altında ele alır ve bunlardan sekizincisini velayet düşüncesine ayırır. Ayrıca eserin farklı birçok pasajı da velayet düşüncesi etrafında ortaya çıkan tartışmalara açıklık getirir mahiyettedir. Bu tartışmalar daha çok velayetin nübüvvetle ilişkisi, nübüvvet ve velayet mertebeleri arasındaki üstünlük ya da kapsayıcılık meselesi ile hatmu'l-velâye ve kimliği konuları etrafında zuhur eder. Ekberî gelenekte velâyet, nübüvvet ve risâlet gibi diğer bütün mertebeleri kuşatıcı bir alan olarak değerlendirilir. Bu yaklaşıma göre velâyet makamı, nübüvvet ve risâlet makamlarını içine aldığı için, her üç niteliği de kendi şahsında toplayan bir kimse söz konusu olduğunda velâyet makamı nübüvvet ve risâlet makamlarından daha üstündür. Bu, her hangi bir velînin bir nebî ya da resulden üstün olduğu anlamına gelmez. Bir diğer ifadeyle, aynı zamanda bir velî olması îtibârıyla bir resûlün velâyet yönü nübüvvet yönünden daha mükemmeldir.

Bu makalede Foucault’nun parrhêsia kavramını ele alışı ile bu kavramın aslında rhêtorikê gibi ikili bir yanının olduğu ve pozitif açıdan değerlendirilebileceği gibi negatif açıdan da kullanılabileceğini ve kimi noktalarda rhêtorikênin durumuna da düşebileceği, bu açıdan da parhhêsianın rhêtorikênin bir parçası olarak da görülebileceği ele alınacaktır. Foucault parrhêsia ile ilgili düşüncelerinin dayandığı kaynakların bir kısmında, bu kavramın aynı zamanda rhêtorikê ile bağlantısının verildiği yerleri göz ardı etmiş, hatta bu bağlantıyı kuranların düşüncelerini tartışmamıştır. Bu makalede Foucault’nun parrhêsiayı nasıl açıkladığı ve onun ele aldığının tersine parhhêsianın rhêtorikê ile doğrudan tam bir karşıtlığının bulunmadığı, kullanım biçimine göre rhêtorikêdeki bu ikiliğin yer yer parrhêsiada da görülebildiği dile getirilecektir. Foucault’nun parrhêsia için değinmediği özelliklere dikkat çekilerek, düşünürün niçin böylesi bir ayrıma gereksinim duyduğu ele alınacaktır.

Az alábbi tanulmányban arra teszünk kísérletet, hogy a Délvidék egyik virágzó és rendkívül sűrű középkori településhálózattal rendelkező régiójának, Bodrog vármegyének a településhálózatát bemutassuk a 16. század török deftereinek a segítségével, melyek a
szórványosnak és hézagosnak tekinthető középkori forrásainkkal ellentétben szisztematikusan leltárba vették a térség városait, falvait, pusztáit.2 A két korszak forrásanyagát egymás kiegészítéseképpen dolgoztuk fel, segítségével az eddigieknél részletesebb képet tudunk adni e vidék török hódítás utáni sorsáról. Első lépésként bemutatnánk azt a két projektet, amelyek lehetővé tették vállalkozásunkat a településhálózat feltárására.

This article investigates tuberculosis mortality in Hermoupolis, the capital of the Greek island of Syros, during the period of continuous cause-of-death reporting from 1916 to 1940. Contemporary reports identified Greece as having one of the highest levels of tuberculosis mortality in Europe, with Hermoupolis ranking at the top within the country. In the early twentieth century, Greece launched an anti-tuberculosis campaign, primarily supported by philanthropists due to limited state intervention. The study examines the actions, if any, taken by the local authorities in Hermoupolis and analyzes mortality attributed to tuberculosis by age group and sex. The results reveal that tuberculosis mortality declined across all age groups in the 1930s, particularly among females. Deaths were concentrated in infancy, early adulthood (20-39 years), and the elderly. Clear differences in tuberculosis fatality rates among occupational classes were found, although they did not markedly differ from all-cause mortality patterns. Factors such as the lack of sanitary reforms, poor living standards, inadequate nutrition, and overcrowding could have potentially played key roles in the high tuberculosis mortality in the city. Considering the inefficacy of sanatorium treatment before the mid-1940s, it is plausible that improvements in factory working conditions and the decrease in industrial activity in the city may have contributed to the reduction in tuberculosis mortality in Hermoupolis during the 1930s.

The present paper is a historical synthesis of the specialized Romanian historiography of the last 150 years. The political element decisively influenced the arduous course of scientific research of the history of relations between the Romanian Principalities and the Ottoman Sublime Porte. Although it has been declared, officially as well, a "fundamental problem of Romanian historiography", the study of these relations was subordinated from the outset to the political conditions and goals of one period or another, thus being largely ignored or falsified. To give an example, the historical Turkish-Ottoman and Tatar sources were deliberately excluded from the 45 massive volumes of the famous "Hurmuzaki" external sources collection, published between 1876 and 1942, solely with the idea of facilitating the admission of independent Romania into the symbolic European geography. During the Romanian Communist regime's first period the motivation was linked to Turkey's membership in NATO, which led to the exacerbation of historical hostility towards the Turks. During the Nationalist-Communist period, Turkey was accepted as a Black Sea neighbor and partner, as a result of its role in bringing Communist Romania closer to the great Western states. At that time, the most significant progress was achieved in the thorough knowledge of the history of Romanian-Ottoman relations.

Yazı, bu dönüşümün başlıca kırılma noktalarını oluşturanve Türkiye ekonomisinin küresel kapitalizmle farklı eklemlenme biçimleri tarafından belirlenen dönemlere karşılık gelen dört bölümden oluşuyor.

The 17th century is considered one of the dark periods in the history of the Kurdish Emirates, because there is no such an inclusive book tackling their history. Unlike the book Sharafnameh written by Prince Sharafkhan Badlisi, which covered the history of Kurdistan throughout the 16th century, there is little information that can be found among some Ottoman and Safavid sources. The Emirate of Soran is one of those emirates that may have received the lion's share of neglect and lack of attention, especially during the 17th and 18th centuries. Therefore, the researcher, who writes on the history of the aforementioned emirate, must search through ancient documents, records, and manuscripts in archives, requiring a consuming time and effort.
This study examines the history of Soran in one of its most important eras, which was the era of Princess Khanzadeh Khatun, the first woman to hold the position of Sanjakbey in the Ottoman Empire. However, the published and available information about this princess is rare to an extent that some regarded her as a fictional heroine in the Kurdish oral literature.
The research paper is divided into two main sections. Section one is devoted to tackle the life of Khanzadeh Khatun and her administrative, political and military role. Section two examines the four princes of the Sanjaks in Soran, namely: Harir and Dowian, Erbil, Shamamak and Koya. It is worth noting that most of the information in our study is published for the first time.
The study has mainly depended on the Ottoman placement records (also known as the Ruus registers) and the records of directing the timariots (timar), the chieftains (zeamet), and the Sultan orders preserved in the Muhimme Dafteri, the various Ottoman documents, as well as the Safavid and Ottoman sources that dealt with topics from the history of the Emirate of Soran during the reign of the princess Khanzadeh Khatun.

From its conceptualization during the late nineteenth century to its grand opening in 1927 and through subsequent decades, the Coptic Hospital has been a fixture in the geographies and genealogies of sectarianism in Cairo. When Boutros Ghali Pasha established the Great Coptic Benevolent Society with other Coptic laity in 1881, he and the board of directors envisioned medical care for the Coptic poor as the organization's first and primary duty. When they faced a myriad of challenges in erecting the hospital, they pivoted to a broader purview of the society's mandate by expanding service to all Egyptians regardless of religious affiliation amid the most polemical sectarian encounters and debates of the early twentieth century. They mediated these tensions by employing a language of sectarian neutrality and claiming to contribute to Egypt's march toward “civilization” through the establishment of the country's first Egyptian-established and -operated private hospital. Yet many aspects of the hospital's development—from appointing department directors to tracking patients—continued to center religious identity as a salient category of medical management. This article examines the discursive and material trajectories of the Coptic Hospital through the prism of medical philanthropy and sectarian infrastructures in modern Cairo.

If anyone thinks of King Leopold II today, it is as a murderous sovereign under whose watch millions of Congolese perished. In Belgium, his statues are targeted or removed. In Turkey, by contrast — paradoxically because the dynasty was broken — nostalgia is now possible, with Sultan Abdülhamid II having become the principal fixture for a Neo-Ottomanist revivalism. Often placed on opposing sides of an artificial East-West divide, the two make an instructive pairing for thinking about nineteenth-century monarchy and modernity, and different kinds of royal haunting today. Viewing them in tandem upturns the supposed irreconcilability of Occident and Orient, Christendom and Islam, Europe and Asia — not because these ’bourgeois monarchs’ didn’t believe in these binaries themselves (they did), but because they navigated common and connected structures of dynasty, empire and finance, many of which still ring a bell.

Osmanlı ülkesi kaza adını taşıyan yargı çevrelerine taksim edilmişti. Bunların her birine medreselerin yüksek sınıflarından mezun olmuş üstün ahlâk ve ilmî ehliyet sahibi kimselerden iki yıllığına kadılar tayin edilirdi. Osmanlı devleti müzik politikasının ne olduğu ve bu politikanın hangi temeller üzerine dayandığı konusu kısmi olarak ele alınmışsa da yazılı belgeye dayalı olarak henüz yeteri derecede irdelenememiştir. Oysaki bu konunun detaylandırılması ve bütünsel bir politika tespiti açısından Osmanlı arşivleri konuyu değerlendirmeye müsait bir zenginlik taşımaktadır. Müzik politikası ile ilgili arşiv kayıtları analiz edildiğinde Osmanlı dönemi içerisinde uygulanan müzik politikasının somutlaştığı durumlar net olarak ortaya koyulabilmektedir. Dönemsel olarak farklılık arz eden bu politikada en etkin olan olgu ise Osmanlı geleneklerinin geçmişten getirdiği bir uygulama olan patronajdır. Osmanlı bürokratının müzik sanatını destekleme adına benimsediği bu davranış şekli uygulama olarak dönemsel olarak farklılık göstermektedir. Tanzimat dönemi öncesinde büyük ölçüde geleneksel nitelik taşıyan unsurların destek ve himayeden faydalandığı görülürken, Tanzimat dönemi sonrasında ise bu destek ve himayenin yeniliğe doğru kaydığı ve daha çok Batı menşeli müzikal kültüre uygun olguların kamusal alanda yer aldığı görülmektedir.

This study is accomplished in order to find out whether the following piece of verse can be considered as the sign of Mahdaviyyat in Hafiz’s worldview: ‘Before the cavalry of his fancy, the black and the white of my eye, I sent; in the hope that the imperial horse rider might come back.’ (Hafiz Diwan ed. Ghani & Ghazvini 235/2. ) The authors hypothesize that Hafiz has reflected a prospective climate in the aforementioned ghazal (lyric) and taking his life and other allusions in his Diwan into consideration, it could at least be said that there are views which can be counted as to be in accordance with Mahdaviyyat philosophy. It also shows that Hafiz had been acquainted with Morabete (stationing), which is an old Islamic tradition being stressed by Holy Prophet and Shia Imams. This paper focuses on the artistic connections between Italy and the Ottoman Empire during the late Ottoman era through the example of the Pisani's, a family of Italian origin who lived in the city of Izmir at the beginning of the 20th century. Particularly active in the field of art and education, when the Pisani's first moved to the Ottoman city of Izmir in 1906, they found themselves in a city context in which the presence of the Italian community was already relevant from a cultural point of view. During their staying in Izmir, on the one hand the Pisani's contributed to the cultural activities carried out by the local Italian institutions, on the other hand they witnessed the making of modern Turkey through their artistic endeavours. The head of the family-Spiridione Pisani-taught drawing and painting in the most prestigious Italian and Ottoman schools, while his son Vittorio created illustrations depicting the key moments of the Turkish War of Indipendence. Nowadays displayed in the Atatürk Museum in Şişli, these illustrations had a considerable impact on the visual culture of the Early Republican Era.

Siyaset Bilimi profesörü Deniz Ülke Arıboğan editörlüğünde hazırlanan Travmaların Gölgesinde: Politik Psikoloji kitabı toplamda 12 farklı makalenin bir araya getirildiği kapsamlı bir çalışmanın ürünüdür. Kitabın giriş yazısı Arıboğan tarafından Korona Günleri'nde kaleme alınmıştır. Bu bölüme Arıboğan, Mısır Devlet Başkanı Enver Sedat'ın 9 Kasım 1977'de Mısır Halk Meclisi'nde yaptığı konuşmadan bir anekdotla giriş yapar. Arap-İsrail ilişkilerinin seyri açısından dönüm noktası olarak kabul edilen bu konuşmada Enver Sedat, İsrail ve Araplar arasındaki sorunun %70'inin psikolojik olduğunu iddia eder. Arıboğan'a göre Sedat Enver'in bu iddiası bireylerin ve toplumların yaşadıkları çatışmalar ile psikolojik süreçler arasındaki bağlantıyı ortaya koyması açısından önemli bir örnektir. İnkılap Yayınları'ndan 2020 yılında basılan kitap, politik psikoloji alanında kaleme alınmış 12 farklı makaleden oluşmaktadır. Deniz Ülke Arıboğan'ın "Bir Politik Anamnesis Örneği Olarak Ayasofya'nın İbadete Açılması Meselesi" başlıklı makalesi ise bu kitabın en dikkat çeken bölümüdür. Bu çalışmanın öncelikli amacı Travmalar Gölgesinde: Politik Psikoloji kitabının en can alıcı kısmını oluşturan Arıboğan'ın adı geçen kitap bölümünü değerlendirmektir.

The aim in this paper will be to study Austria’s stance of “neutrality” during the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878. The research will be based mainly on seven Greek-language newspapers, Anatoli (Ανατολή), Anatoliko Astir (Ανατολικός Αστήρ), Byzantis (Βυζάντις), Thrace (Θράκη), Metarthymisis (Μεταρρύθµισις) and Neologos (Νεολόγος) which were published in Istanbul and Nea Smyrni (Νέα Σµύρνη) which was published in Smyrna during the Ottoman period. The specific newspapers are digitized in the Digital Library of the Hellenic Parliament. At the same time, information from documents found in the Archive of “T.R. Presidential State Archives Directorate.(T.C..Cumhurbaşkanlığı Devlet Arşivleri Başkanlığı)” and related bibliography will be combined. In Anatolian Seljuks and Ottoman periods, darussifas, which established on behalf of royal women, provided free health care to all citizens. Moreover, being the patronage of this foundation was enabled to enhance these women’s prestige. The number of women who instituted darussifas is extremely high. o misiune imposibilă. Împreună cu noul domn au venit în Moldova şi creditorii care, stabiliți în ţară, au procedat la recuperarea sumelor împrumutate lui Aron Tiranul la Constantinopol. Această situaţie fireşte că a trezit opoziţia diferitelor stări sociale din Ţara Moldovei. Chiar de la începutul domniei, au fugit în Rzeczpospolita cei mai importanţi reprezentanţi ai boierimii moldoveneşti de atunci: marele logofăt Luca Stroici, marele vornic Ieremia Movilă, ceaşnicul Simion Movilă, spătarul Toader Movilă 8 . Mai târziu, au sosit aici hatmanul Andrei 9 şi Nestor Ureche, tatăl lui Grigore Ureche 10 . Aron Tiranul a început domnia cu omorârea lui Bartolomeo Brutti 11 . Noile impozite impuse de domn au trezit mari nemulţumiri în toate straturile sociale din Ţara Moldovei. Ca urmare a acestei situaţii, în ţară au izbucnit răscoale, între altele în ţinuturile Orhei şi Soroca. Răsculaţii aveau propriul pretendent la tronul Moldovei, un oarecare Ionaşco. Când, la 28 mai 1592, s-a ajuns la confruntarea armată dintre domnul înscăunat și noul pretendent 12 , la Constantinopol s-a hotărât o nouă schimbare a domnului. În locul lui Aron Tiranul, în scaun a fost numit Alexandru cel Rău. Când Aron, ascultător, s-a îndreptat spre Constantinopol, creditorii lui au solicitat sultanului revenirea acestuia în scaun, deoarece nu şi-ar fi putut recupera altfel banii împrumutați cu un an înainte . Intervenţia lor a avut efectul scontat şi imediat s-a hotărât întoarcerea lui Aron în scaunul domnesc. Guvernarea lui era, însă, foarte complicată. Problemele se înmulţeau de pretutindeni: instabilitatea politică, din cauza sistemului de suzeranitate otomană, opoziţia internă, opoziţia moldovenească din Polonia. Dificultatea cea mai importantă era legată de creditorii de la Constantinopol, dar soluţionarea ei avea să vină dintr-o parte cu totul neaşteptată. În anul 1593, între Imperiul Otoman şi Imperiul Habsburgic a început un nou război. Ciocnirile de la frontieră au degenerat într-un veritabil război, care va dura până în anul 1606 și va avea consecinţe importante asupra Ţărilor Române. Situaţia în care se aflau cele două ţări române extracarpatice, la sfârşitul secolului al XVI-lea, era foarte complicată. Existau diferite opinii privind derularea evenimentelor în perioada următoare. Înainte de toate, intra în calcul stabilirea dominaţiei efective a Imperiului Otoman prin transformarea Moldovei şi a Ţării Româneşti în paşalâc. Un asemenea sistem era la sud de Dunăre. Neşrettiğimiz rapor, sadece bir askerî strateji belgesi olmanın ötesinde, dönemin Osmanlı ordusunun modernleşme süreci ve savunma anlayışındaki dönüşümleri de yansıtmaktadır. Keçecizâde İzzet Fuâd Paşa, İstanbul'un savunulmasının sadece Boğaz istihkâmlarına dayandırılamayacağını, Anadolu yakasının doğru bir şekilde haritalandırılması ve savunma hatlarının yeniden düzenlenmesi gerektiğini vurgulamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, mevcut haritaların yetersiz ve hatalı olduğunu tespit eden Paşa, bölgenin yeni ve detaylı haritalarını hazırlayarak askerî harekât planlamasında kullanılabilir hale getirmiştir. Rapor, olası bir Rus işgali senaryosu üzerinden bölgenin savunma stratejilerini detaylandırmakta ve savunma hatlarının nasıl tahkim edilmesi gerektiği konusunda çeşitli önerilerde bulunmaktadır. Özellikle Riva sahilinin önemine dikkat çeken İzzet Paşa, bölgenin askerî ve coğrafî özelliklerini analiz ederek, uygun savunma noktalarının belirlenmesini ve bu bölgelerin askerî tahkimatlarla desteklenmesini önermektedir. Ayrıca raporda, savunma hatlarının ve tahkimatların güçlendirilmesi için gerekli olan lojistik ve teknik detaylar da ele alınmıştır. İzzet Paşa'nın bu raporu, dönemin askerî strateji anlayışını ve savunma politikalarını anlamak adına önemli bir kaynaktır. Paşa'nın derin askerî bilgisi, öngörüsü ve bölgenin savunma ihtiyaçlarına dair detaylı analizleri, sadece Osmanlı askerî tarihine değil, aynı zamanda savunma planlaması alanında yapılacak çalışmalara da ışık tutmaktadır. Paşanın, Anadolu cihetinin savunmasına dair geliştirdiği kapsamlı ve ayrıntılı öneriler, günümüzde de savunma planlaması açısından dikkate değer niteliktedir. Keçecizâde İzzet Fuâd Paşa'nın bu değerli çalışmasını okuyuculara sunmaktan onur duyarız. يندرج هذا العمل في إطار مشروعٍ بحثيٍّ يهدف إلى إعادة تدبّر الأدب العربيّ الوسيط بعيداً عن التنميط السائد والفرز المتعسّف ما بين شعبيّ وعالم. وذلك ضمن مقاربةٍ نقديّة تفرد الخصوصيّة اللغويّة لهذا التراث السرديّ وتبرز جماليّة تحوّلاتها وانزياحاتها، وتفكّك حمولته الثقافيّة ومرجعيّاتها الدينيّة والأدبيّة، وتتابع تشكّلات معماره السرديّ وترصد ديناميّة دلالاته وتناسل رموزه في سياقاتها المختلفة.
وفي هذه الورقة سنقدّم للقارئ تحقيقاً لنصٍّ حكائيٍّ غير منشور هو (حكاية علاء الدين بن عزّ الدين)؛ بادئين بوصف نسختها الخطيّة المحفوظة في مكتبة البودليان التابعة لجامعة أكسفورد، ومستفيضين في عرض ما انطوى عليه هذا المتن  الحكائيّ من موضوعاتٍ ودلالات، ومتتبّعين أصولها الأولى ـ منذ ما يزيد على الألف ومئة عام ـ في كتابات الفقهاء والمحدّثين والقصّاص والأخباريّين وأهل الأدب والسمر، والممتدّة إلى يومنا هذا في استلهامات الأدباء والرواة والمسرحيّين.   
وهكذا سنتنقّل في مدارات (حكاية علاء الدين بن عزّ الدين) انطلاقاً من نواتها في (حديث الخراسانيّ مع أبي غياث الجعفريّ) المنقول عن أبي جعفر الطبري والمعروف بـ (حديث الهميان)، مروراً بتفرّعاتها في قصص ألف ليلة وليلة ولا سيّما (حكاية عليّ بن التاجر محمود)، وصولاً إلى (حكاية الهميان) التي صاغها عليّ الطنطاويّ في كتابه (قصص من التاريخ) وإلى مسرحيّة (الرزق الحلال) التي كتبها عليّ أحمد باكثير، لنختتم رحلتنا مع الشهادة الواقعيّة التي قدمها الشيخ أديب حسّون حطيب جامع الفرقان في حلب. فنتبيّن من ذلك انفتاح هذا السرد على فضاءاتٍ مختلفة وسياقاتٍ متنوّعة يتجاور فيها الدينيّ والدنيويّ، ويتقاطع الماضي مع الحاضر، وتختلط الحقيقة بالوهم، ويتمازج الواقع بالخيال.

The article “Military banners of the Court Troops and King John Casimir Vasa's Guard from the Collection of the Armemuseum in Stockholm” presents a collection of military banners belonging to the court troops and the royal guard of King John Casimir Vasa, held in the State Trophy Collection at the Armemuseum in Stockholm. The author examines the significance of military banners in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during the first half of the 17th century, highlighting the lack of formal legal regulations concerning their design. This absence led to the development of customary practices, shaped by two vexillological traditions—national and foreign.

The article briefly outlines the history of the court formations and royal guard during the reign of John Casimir and provides an overview of the State Trophy Collection’s origins, as well as the existing scholarship on royal banners. The author then analyzes a set of 17 banners, categorizing them into three groups: banners of the court troops, banners of the royal guard, and unidentified banners likely associated with units closely tied to the royal court. Each banner is examined in terms of its condition, provenance, and the royal heraldry, Baroque emblems, and mottoes it bears. Possible sources of inspiration for their visual forms are also discussed. For the previously unidentified banners, the author attempts to determine their potential military affiliations.

In conclusion, the article compares this collection with the banners of court and guard troops under earlier monarchs of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth—Sigismund III and Władysław IV Vasa—emphasizing the dynastic and political contexts that influenced changes in banner iconography during their respective reigns.

The modern history of Sindh remains an extensive
area of scholarly research, analyzing various dimensions
of colonial rule, anti-imperial campaigns, and the
complex political landscape in contemporary history.
However, British power in colonial India spanned two
centuries, empowering indigenous societies and
reforming the education system. The influence of
British colonialism was particularly significant among
Muslim scholars. Colonizers tried to attract Muslim
scholars to their needs. However, internal conflicts and
ideological differences among Muslim scholars,
especially in Sindh, have often been overlooked in
mainstream historiography. The proposed research
aims to highlight the British behavior towards Sindh and
expose the British colonial benefits. This study
examines the evolving divisions among Muslims in
colonial Sindh, highlighting the First World War as a
turning point in anti-colonial resistance. The era saw
increasing opposition to British rule, challenging the
long-standing notion that the sun would never set on
the British Empire. The research explores political and
ideological rifts within the Muslim community,
analyzing colonial policies that shaped these divisions.
The study relies on secondary sources, including
academic journals, research papers, books, and
historical reports, employing a qualitative approach.
Through an in-depth analysis of political movements
and historical events, it uncovers sectarian and political
divergences among Muslims, contextualized within the
broad context of colonial history in India, particularly
Sindh.

This is a timely book of interest to more than students of Russian history or political theory. It is a work that should be read by anyone who is concerned about the state of the world today, especially those who have become convinced or have forgotten that the present can always be challenged to create a better future.

Maritime mail represented a central aspect of the development of communication networks in Egypt during the second half of the 19th century. Among the most prominent instruments of this transformation were the Khedivial Mail Steamers, which played a pivotal role in linking Egyptian ports with regional and international trade centers. This study sheds light on the organizational and operational dimensions of these vessels, along with the available postal documents and rare cancellations that reflect the nature of the service, its operational context, and the political and economic environments in which it functioned. The aim of this work is to provide a detailed documentary analysis based on philatelic sources and original postal materials, contributing to a deeper understanding of Egypt's role in maritime postal operations during and beyond the Khedivial era.
